Tata Motors has just launched the Harrier EV, an all-electric version of its popular SUV, and it’s packed with everything you’d want in a modern electric car—great looks, strong performance, and a long driving range—all at a price that makes sense for Indian buyers.
A Bold and Futuristic Look
The Harrier EV keeps the tough, muscular design of the regular Harrier but adds some cool electric-only touches. The front grille is now closed (since EVs don’t need as much cooling), making it look sleeker and more futuristic. The wheels are also designed to cut through air more efficiently, helping the car go farther on a single charge.
Inside, you get the same premium feel as the regular Harrier—spacious seating for five, a big touchscreen, and high-quality materials, including some eco-friendly options.
Strong Performance & Long Battery Life
Tata Motors is offering a lifetime warranty on the Harrier EV’s battery, ensuring long-term peace of mind. With its strong range, fast charging, and powerful performance, the Tata Harrier EV is shaping up to be a compelling choice in the electric SUV market.
The Tata Harrier EV comes with two battery options: a 65 kWh pack and a more powerful 75 kWh pack. Both batteries are based on lithium-ion technology, which is known for its efficiency and reliability. The 75 kWh battery is specially designed for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of the Harrier EV, giving it a claimed range of up to 627 km on the MIDC test cycle. However, in real-world conditions, drivers can expect a slightly lower range—around 480 to 505 km—depending on driving habits and road conditions.
One of the standout features of the Harrier EV is its fast-charging capability. Using a 120 kW DC fast charger, the battery can go from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes, making long trips more convenient. For home charging, the SUV supports both 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW AC charging, giving owners flexibility depending on their charging setup.

Performance-wise, the AWD variant of the Harrier EV is particularly impressive. It comes with dual electric motors that deliver a combined 390 bhp and 504 Nm of torque, making it a powerful SUV. There’s also a Boost mode that allows the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds—a thrilling feature for those who enjoy quick acceleration.

Beyond performance, the Harrier EV also offers practical features like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. This means the car can power external devices or even charge another electric vehicle in need, adding an extra layer of utility.
The AWD version comes only in the top Empowered trim and costs ₹28.99 lakh, while the more affordable rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models start at ₹21.49 lakh.
Safety Features—5-Star Rated
Safety is a big deal for Tata, and the Harrier EV proves it by scoring a full 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests. Whether it’s protecting adults or kids, this SUV is built to keep you safe.
Luxury Option: The Stealth Edition

If you want something extra special, Tata is also offering a Stealth Edition with a sporty blacked-out look and premium features. Prices start at ₹28.24 lakh (introductory offer), and you can get it in both RWD and AWD versions.

Final Thought
The Harrier EV is much more affordable than luxury electric SUVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, but it still offers similar (or even better) range and features. Plus, with Tata’s strong service network across India, owning an EV becomes a lot more convenient.
With its long range, AWD option, stylish design, and top safety rating, the Harrier EV is a strong contender in India’s growing electric car market. If you’ve been thinking about switching to an EV but wanted something powerful and practical, this might just be the perfect choice.
